Qblox Quantum Builds Major U.S. Quantum Infrastructure

Qblox Quantum News

Qblox, a well-known supplier of open-architecture quantum control electronics, has announced the introduction of the first “Made in America” quantum control systems, a step that greatly strengthens the American quantum hardware market. Through a strategic alliance with Prodrive Technologies, the company will start producing its goods locally on April 1st, 2026. The company’s operating approach and commitment to the U.S. quantum ecosystem will undergo a significant change with the construction and shipment of these systems from a facility in Canton, Massachusetts.

Strengthening the Domestic Supply Chain

This comes after Qblox expanded in 2025 and set up its North American headquarters in the center of Boston. Qblox promises to overcome essential logistical and strategic difficulties in the quantum business by shifting production to the US. Expect shorter lead times, increased shipping efficiency, and enhanced supply-chain security with the move.

Additionally, domestic manufacturing aligns with U.S. procurement, regulatory, and finance regulations, crucial as quantum technology enters commercial and governmental application. According to Gregg Carman, General Manager and Head of North America for Qblox, “quantum technology is strategic infrastructure” and stressed the significance of their change. He pointed out that the business is in line with the long-term objectives of American research institutions and the larger innovation economy by producing and shipping domestically.

A Hub for Quantum Innovation

Selecting Massachusetts for this expansion highlights its status as a top worldwide hub for developing technology. Governor Maura Healey welcomed Qblox’s investment in Canton, underscoring the state’s leadership in future technology. The state’s “world-class research institutions, talented workforce, and innovation ecosystem” are suitable for high-tech expansion, according to her.

These views were shared by Economic Development Secretary Eric Paley, who noted that “breakthrough technologies move from research to real-world deployment” in Massachusetts more and more. In addition to shipping, the Canton site supports technical responsibilities in production, systems integration, logistics, and customer support. This expansion fosters a high-tech workforce in preparation for future quantum infrastructure needs.

Strategic Partnerships and Open Architecture

A key component of this push for domestic manufacture is the collaboration with Prodrive Technologies. Although both businesses have their origins in the Netherlands, they have greatly increased their activities in Massachusetts. According to Pieter Janssen, CEO and co-founder of Prodrive Technologies, the “reliability, quality, and scalability required for the next generation of quantum innovation” are the foundation of this collaboration.

The core of Qblox’s ideology is open-architecture manufacturing, a paradigm that aids National Labs and the Department of Energy’s research initiatives. Researchers and engineers may create reliable, scalable systems with Qblox’s transparent and flexible control engines. According to Niels Bultink, CEO and co-founder of Qblox, “proximity matters operationally, strategically, and economically,” and being nearer to the institutions and researchers driving innovation enables deeper collaboration.

Comprehensive Product Suite

Qblox’s wide range of quantum control hardware and software will be included in the “Made in America” campaign. This comprises their modular hardware parts, like:

  • QRM and QRM-RF: Qubit Readout Modules.
  • QCM, QCM-RF II, and QRC: Qubit Control and Readout Modules.
  • QTM: Qubit Timetag Module.
  • QSM: Quantum Source and Measurement Module.
  • The Cluster: A comprehensive, all-in-one quantum control stack.
  • DC Cluster: For ultra-stable DC bias control.

Software-wise, researchers overseeing intricate quantum experiments can still get “instant results” from the Qblox Scheduler.

Future Outlook and Industry Integration

Qblox is presenting its latest breakthroughs, including real-time GPU-to-quantum integration, at the APS 2026 March Meeting. A crucial part of hybrid quantum-classical infrastructure, this technology is crucial for the future of computing.

Qblox’s growth in Canton establishes the business as a reliable infrastructure partner as public and private investment in quantum technology picks up speed throughout the United States. In addition to streamlining its own operations, Qblox is laying the “backbone” for a new phase of American quantum computing by establishing a local manufacturing base. The action guarantees that the crucial instruments for quantum discovery are created, constructed, and implemented at scale in the United States, marking a major turning point for the sector.
