ZeroTier Quantum Debuts at RSAC with Post-Quantum Security

The world’s first end-to-end quantum-secure networking technology, ZeroTier Quantum, was formally introduced at the RSA Conference (RSAC). This new platform is intended to offer high-performance, software-defined networking that satisfies the strictest cryptographic requirements needed for the post-quantum era while running at data center-level speeds.

Addressing the Risks of the Quantum Era

The launch occurs during a crucial period for international cybersecurity. The amount of sensitive data being transmitted has skyrocketed as businesses extend their operations outside conventional borders to incorporate autonomous vehicles, devices, and remote infrastructure across countries. A “harvest now, decrypt later” vulnerability has emerged concurrently with the growth of AI leverage and quantum computing, wherein attackers obtain encrypted material now with the goal of decrypting it once quantum technology is developed.

To solve these issues, ZeroTier Quantum was designed from the ground up to provide a networking fabric that seamlessly connects with current infrastructure, saving businesses from having to go through extensive technological redesigns. The technology is a “true generational leap,” according to ZeroTier CEO Andrew Gault, who pointed out that it enables businesses to retain vital systems in settings where conventional security approaches frequently fail.

Technical Specifications and Compliance

The ZeroTier Transport Protocol (ZTP), a packet-based protocol that incorporates hybrid, FIPS-compliant post-quantum cryptography straight into the transport layer, is at the core of the system. To meet the NSA’s highest standards at CNSA 2.0, this structure is intended to surpass the Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) obstacles set by governments and regulated industry.

Platform architecture emphasises adaptation and resilience:

  1. Memory-Safe Construction: Full Rust platform reduces vulnerabilities.
  2. Distributed Control Plane: A smart control plane removes centralized of failure and lowers network noise.
  3. Deployment Versatility: To meet the most stringent security needs, ZeroTier Quantum can be installed in SaaS cloud, sovereign-gapped, or fully air-gapped configurations.
  4. API-First Design: The platform enforces cryptographic identity and communication at all layers by integrating with cloud, on-premises, edge, and embedded devices.

Wide-Ranging Industry Use Cases

Many sectors need high-security, high-performance connectivity. ZeroTier Quantum helps. The platform’s adaptability allows high-stakes use cases like:

  • Defense and Government: Securing dynamic, high-threat, or offline connectivity.
  • Enterprise IT and AI Cloud: Scalable remote workers, AI-driven workload, hybrid cloud connectivity.
  • Regulated Gaming: Securing on-site and distant casino and gaming communications.
  • Compliance-Heavy Sectors: Banking and healthcare regulations are strict.
  • Manufacturing and Edge Computing: Edge computing and manufacturing enable low-compute OT, M2M, IoT, and IIoT applications.
  • Data-Intensive Environments: Server farms, large-scale data replication, and HD video streaming with virtually wire-speed performance and low latency.
  • CISO Strategic Planning: Strategic planning for CISOs includes inventorying QBOMs and CBOMs to meet future quantum needs.

The Road Ahead: Innovation and Expansion

Adam Ierymenko, CTO and founder of ZeroTier, claims that years of lessons learned from the company’s flagship product, ZeroTier One, informed the architecture for ZeroTier Quantum. According to Ierymenko, the company “did the hard stuff first,” laying the groundwork for the assumption that adversary threats will get more sophisticated and connectivity issues will increase.

ZeroTier intends to greatly increase the platform’s capacity in the future. Programmable kernels for sophisticated endpoint control and the incorporation of centralized AI are two upcoming improvements. This would enable autonomous monitoring and management of the network fabric by ZeroTier and third-party AI models a concept known as agentic netops. The ZeroTier Central dashboard will also be upgraded to enable direct Quantum platform user interface usage.

About ZeroTier

ZeroTier, which is trusted by millions of devices globally, offers cutting-edge global connection solutions that avoid the “overengineered chaos” of conventional networking. Anorak Ventures, Battery Ventures, and Bonfire Ventures are the companies’ backers. Notably, ZeroTier’s services to the industry were honored with a 2026 Cybersecurity Excellence Award in the Industry Software Solution category. Currently, companies interested in the platform can get in touch with ZeroTier sales to schedule a demonstration.
