Infleqtion Quantum Computing Expands DOE Labs Partnerships

Infleqtion Quantum Computing

Infleqtion, a global leader in quantum sensing and quantum computing, announced a major expansion of its collaborative efforts with several U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) national laboratories. By strengthening Infleqtion’s Superstaq platform as the main quantum software environment for top federal research testbeds, these strategic agreements aim to close the gap between fundamental research and practical applications.

Along with a new cooperation with Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, the expanded relationships include renewed long-term agreements with Sandia National Laboratories and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. These partnerships seek to simplify the execution of quantum algorithms on actual machines by fusing cutting-edge software with developing hardware, freeing up the country’s leading academics to concentrate on research rather than device-specific software adaptation.

Superstaq: The Bridge Between Code and Quantum Hardware

Superstaq, Infleqtion’s exclusive quantum software platform, is at the heart of these collaborations. Various systems frequently need various sets of instructions in the complicated world of quantum computing. Superstaq oversees the preparation and execution of these quantum instructions on a variety of hardware architectures. For national laboratories that run a variety of dynamic quantum systems, this capability is essential.

Infleqtion Chief Technology Officer Pranav Gokhale remarked, “National lab researchers are pushing quantum computing.” Superstaq is one of the few platforms that can work with many quantum computing technologies, Gokhale said, adding that the extended relationships show faith in the company. As researchers go from experimental stages to useful, real-world applications, this cross-platform tool lets them unlock significant performance gains.

Sustaining Momentum at Sandia and Berkeley

Infleqtion’s history with the DOE laboratory system is well-established. The business has been supporting Berkeley Lab’s Advanced Quantum Testbed (AQT) and Sandia National Laboratories’ Quantum Scientific Computing Open User Testbed (QSCOUT) since 2021. To guarantee that the systems continue to function dependably even as the testbeds expand in size and complexity, the recently announced renewals incorporate ongoing software licensing and tight technical engagement.

The partnership guarantees that scientists at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory have the resources needed for experimentation on quickly evolving quantum devices. According to Chris Spitzer, Berkeley Lab’s Quantum Research Program Manager, Superstaq has supplied crucial resources for quantum research and development, facilitating access to software that advances in tandem with hardware.

In a similar vein, Superstaq has been an essential component of the QSCOUT testbed at Sandia since its establishment. The platform’s relevance in offering dependable tools that facilitate experimentation, comparison, and development across several new quantum computing technologies was emphasized by Susan Clark, QSCOUT Principal Investigator.

New Horizons at Fermilab

One highlight of the news is its new Fermilab collaboration. Superstaq supports the recently reactivated DOE National Quantum Information Science Research Center (SQMS) through this cooperation.

To create and execute quantum programs tailored to SQMS‘s particular research objectives, Infleqtion will collaborate closely with Fermilab experts. SQMS is investigating ways to combine cutting-edge hardware with an adaptable software platform, according to Dr. Silvia Zorzetti, Principal Engineer at Fermilab. “The Superstaq platform supports the collaborative work underway at SQMS and helps the teams focus on translating foundational research into meaningful progress for the broader quantum ecosystem,” Zorzetti stated.

A Broad Commitment to the DOE Ecosystem

The extension with Sandia, Berkeley, and Fermilab is a component of Infleqtion’s broader plan to assist the US government’s quantum projects. In addition to these three labs, Infleqtion continues to work with the National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR) and Argonne National Laboratory.

One noteworthy effort is the advancement of quantum-powered energy grid optimization through a recently awarded ARPA-E initiative. This endeavor exemplifies Infleqtion’s dedication to providing scalable quantum software and technologies that expedite fundamental scientific research as well as significant, practical solutions in industries like energy.

Infleqtion’s Full-Stack Approach

Infleqtion’s “full-stack” approach to quantum technologies strengthens its position in these collaborations. Superstaq is a pioneer in neutral-atom technology, which fuels its quantum computing, sensing, and networking solutions, even though it supplies the software layer. Their wide range of products consists of:

  • Quantum Computers: The Sqale full-stack, fault-tolerant neutral atom system is one example of a quantum computer.
  • Sensing Technology: The Tiqker atomic clock, Rydberg atomic sensing-based quantum radio frequency receivers, and inertial sensing for GPS-denied situations are examples of sensing technology.
  • Quantum Cores: Ready-to-use neutral-atom systems designed to fast-track quantum experiments.

Numerous well-known organizations, such as the U.S. Department of War, NASA, and the U.K. government, already use Infleqtion’s technology. Additionally, the business has advanced significantly in the commercial sector through partnerships like NVIDIA, which recently produced the first demonstration of a logical qubit-based materials science application in history.

Future Outlook and Commercial Momentum

Infleqtion is positioning itself to satisfy the needs of commercial and governmental clients in the space, defense, energy, finance, and telecommunications industries as quantum systems get bigger and more powerful. The company’s global presence spans the United States, Europe, and Asia, guaranteeing a wide audience for its scalable quantum solutions.

On March 11, 2026, Infleqtion will have an Analyst Day to better highlight its commercial momentum and its strategy for scalable neutral-atom technology. A deeper understanding of the company’s future goals and its place in the developing global quantum ecosystem is anticipated as a result of this event.

With these new collaborations, Infleqtion is strengthening its standing as a reliable supplier of the hardware and software infrastructure needed to transfer quantum computing from the lab to the real world, spurring innovation throughout the country’s laboratory system and beyond.
