SuperQ Quantum Joins National FABrIC Network in Canada

A Strategic Advancement for Canadian Quantum and Semiconductor Innovation with SuperQ Quantum’s Joining of FABrIC

The world leader in quantum and supercomputing, SuperQ Quantum Computing Inc. (CSE: QBTQ; Frankfurt: 25X; OTC: ATMGF), has announced that it has been accepted as a member of Canada’s National Semiconductor and Quantum Innovation Network, or FABrIC. This noteworthy advancement places SuperQ Quantum at the center of a large-scale national project aimed at accelerating Canada’s rapidly growing semiconductor and quantum technology sector.

FABrIC is a significant five-year, $223 million government-backed strategic program run by CMC Microsystems. Its principal goal is to mobilize Canada’s assets in important technical fields, such as quantum technologies, photonics, MEMS, and compound semiconductors. The program intends to shorten the route to commercialization and increase the robustness of the local supply chain by pooling essential funds, infrastructure, industry partners, and training programs to boost Canadian skills.

Being a member of FABrIC is a significant strategic achievement for SuperQ Quantum. Its significance was emphasized by Dr. Muhammad Khan, CEO and Board Chair of SuperQ Quantum, who said, “Joining FABrIC is a huge strategic milestone for SuperQ. It connects the nation’s concerted goal to develop semiconductor and quantum capability with our Super platform and Canadian R&D alliances. He went on to say that FABrIC offers “funding pathways, prototyping infrastructure, and a national partner network that will help us accelerate Canadian commercialization of quantum-enabled solutions and expand industry access to high-performance quantum and hybrid compute capabilities” .

Key Benefits for SuperQ Quantum and Canada:

The benefits of SuperQ’s membership in FABrIC are extensive and were carefully crafted to hasten the advancement and commercialization of Canadian technology. These benefits are essential to SuperQ’s expansion and the development of Canadian innovation in general:

  • Strategic Ecosystem Access: As a member of FABrIC, SuperQ will have direct access to a wide range of national networks that include government stakeholders, academic institutions, and business partners. With a particular focus on introducing semiconductor-based and quantum technologies to the market, this network cultivates a cooperative atmosphere that is essential for technical progress.
  • Funding Project Opportunities: SuperQ’s membership entitles it to take part in co-development opportunities, project consortia, and FABrIC Challenge Calls. These channels are intended to reduce the risk associated with commercialization pathways and offer crucial funding for projects that show promise. With 138 expressions of interest and 20 projects funded across Canada many of which were quantum-focused initiatives FABrIC’s first round of Challenge funding showed a great deal of interest. Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada (ISED) contributed $13.4 million, which was leveraged to a $35.6 million total investment. SuperQ’s inclusion foreshadows more prospects ahead of the funding announcement for the Round Two Challenge.
  • Technical Prototyping Services: SuperQ has access to vital resources for design, prototyping, microFAB access, and testing with the shared services of FABrIC and CMC Microsystems. It is anticipated that this access will greatly speed up product development cycles for integration and hardware-adjacent initiatives that enhance SuperQ’s own Super platform.
  • Talent Training: SuperQ will have easier access to highly skilled workers because to FABrIC’s training and reskilling initiatives, known as TNT, and its solid university ties. As a result, a critical demand in the high-tech industry will be met, strengthening commercial research and development pipelines across Canada.
  • Quantum Readiness Commercialization: SuperQ is in a unique position with FABrIC’s specific focus on quantum technologies and its dedicated Quantum Readiness stream. The business can immediately profit from national initiatives to scale quantum computing, control, and sensing technologies as well as contribute to them.

A Dynamic Quantum Landscape:

The announcement of SuperQ coincides with a thriving era of advancements in quantum and advanced computing. QC Ware was getting ready to host Q2B Paris 2025, which featured global quantum leaders, and DARPA chose Q-CTRL to develop next-generation quantum sensors for navigation on advanced defense platforms.

These headlines on the same day, August 27, 2025, also highlighted the rapid pace of quantum development: Planette was chosen by NASA to develop a quantum-inspired AI system for extreme weather prediction. The larger quantum ecosystem is also experiencing a surge in activity, as seen by stories like Albuquerque’s new quantum age and Palm Beach County’s transformation of quantum technology from a jargon to a building block. The strategic significance of programs such as FABrIC in developing national capacities in this quickly changing technological frontier is shown by these developments.
